We experienced an extremely high volume of calls from patients as soon as the phone lines opened this morning which meant that waiting times were much higher than anticipated.  With the new navigation system in place, we still have appointments in the afternoon, so please remember that you no longer need to rush to the phone at 8am to get an appointment and, if your call is not urgent, it may be easier for you to wait until later to speak to us on the phone.

We are very pleased to announce that Dr Karen Chumbley (Clinical Director for St Helena Hospice) has chosen to join the practice on a GP Retainer Scheme.  Dr Chumbley will work in the practice every other Thursday.

The way repeat prescriptions are ordered is changing!

From 1st August 2016 Pharmacies will no longer be able to order your prescription on your behalf.

You will have to order your prescription directly from your GP

Why is this happening?

  • It is safer – Your GP will have a clearer picture of what you are ordering.
  • We would like YOU to be in charge of ordering your medicines.
  • It will reduce waste and the money saved can be used to benefit the residents of North East Essex.

From 1 April 2015, practices are required under contract, to allocate a named, accountable GP to all patients, including children. All patients will be allocated a GP before the end of June 2015. All new patients registering will be informed about their named GP at registration. Please ask your doctor , or the reception staff, who your named, accountable GP is. Should you express a wish for this to be changed to another GP we will do our best to accomodate your wishes.

Please be aware that this does not affect your ability to make an appointment with any of the GPs in the practice of your choosing.

Better information means Better Care:
